LOTR Supports Literacy
November 12-19 2023 is Literacy Week in Savannah Chatham County. The week is sponsored by the Chatham Education Alliance and supported by the City of Savannah Chatham County and the Savannah Chatham County Board of Education. Ladies on the Right is pleased to join over 20 civic, community and business organizations as cosponsors. Our goal is to build broad and deep public support for excellence in our schools.
Literacy Week will have two main events. On Monday, November 13, Right to Read, a documentary produced by the NAACP, will be shown at the Lucas Theatre. Kareem Weaver, the main protagonist in the film will do the Q & A after the screening. On Tuesday, November 14, Mr. Weaver will be the speaker at a luncheon at Kehoe Iron Works, sponsored by the Southeast Georgia Leadership Conference.
